Hello,

Are your conferences only for white women who are Christians? I am a black woman and I only see white women in your photos. I didn't know any other way other than to ask so I thought I would respectfully ask so that no one is offended if I registed. I will return for an answer.

God bless you.

I'd like to answer your question. It is for women, period. I attended last year and there were many African American women in attendance, myself being one of them. It is an excellent conference and if you choose to attend, you will find that we are all just Christian women there trying to follow God's plan for us.

The ladies who staff Proverbs 31 Ministries are the real deal. I hope you choose to attend. It was well worth my money last year. I know it will be again this year. Just come and watch God show up! He surely did last year.

Mari,

I appreciate your response as an attendee (not staff). I can sense your concern in my question...yes we are all Christians but I have witnessed separation within the BODY sadly and so I asked since I did not see diversification in this ministries advertisement photos. I appreciate your reply.

God bless you.

Hi Anonymous.

I am so glad you came back and so thankful that Mari posted her heart and perspective. Thank you for your honest observation and questions. We understand your concern. We are very white and we know it :-). We long for diversity and pray for it, too. We actually have two amazing women on staff who are African American but one is camera shy. The the other is on our staff page at http://www.proverbs31.org/about/meetOurStaff.php

Also, there are a few of us have children adopted from Africa so we do have some family diversity.

We hope to see you at She Speaks 2009!

Blessings,
Renee

Good evening,
I can not seem to see the dates of the sessions for the conference. When I click on "Conference Schedule" it is a blank page. Is everyone having this problem? Is there anywhere else I can find the dates?
Thank you in advance,

Is there anyone from the Houston, Texas area going? I am hoping/praying to go if I can find a way. Finances are the real obstacle. But I would like to meet any women from this area to fly with (or even drive if that's possible). I don't really want to go alone and it would be nice to know someone to go with and share a room with. Thanks! Be Blessed! Jody

Hi!
I'm attending and I'm so excited!
Do you have buttons to place on blogs to show that I'm attending. I've seen several on speakers' blogs to show that they're speaking, but would love one for attending.
Thanks!

Jody - I'm from Houston - and I'm going! We actually live in Richmond...but for all intents and purposes, I'm a Houstonian!
We should definitely connect. I really don't want to drive....but I don't have a roommate yet!

Hi! My name is Darlene. I and a friend attended the She Speaks Conference in 2007. It was a beautiful Christian experience. We laughed, we cried, we shared, I laid things on the alter, and I grew closer to Christ.

The thing that inspired me the most was the prayer room. I was so touched that the P31 team had prayed for each and every attendee before we arrived and throughout the conference. What a blessing!

I would love to go again, but whoever wins will be blessed beyond measure. Thanks P31 team. you have surely touched my life.

Please go not have any reservations about attending this conference. There is no separation there. You will be changed!

Hi LeeAnn,

I am one of the scholarship winners from Lysa's blog. I am so grateful and excited to be there.

I'm working on my registration and trying to make decisions about which breakout sessions to attend. I was wondering if we will be able to purchase recordings of sessions we can't make it to? Knowing that will help me in my decision making. There are just so many great sessions, it is hard to choose. : )

See you in July!

Hello,
This will be my first time at this conference. I am looking forward to it but hope it is not over my head.

Last year was my first year attending the conference. I was hesitant to attend because I just didn't feel I was worthy to go. The entire weekend opened my eyes to God's love just for me and reminded me of how precious I am to Him.

I was able to order CD's of all the session that I missed, as well as some that I attended and wanted to hear again.

I'm eagerly anticipating attending this year and receiving even more blessings.

Jody and Amy,
Hello, I am form Houston too! Actually I live in League City, but close enough...and Amy, I grew up in Richmond.
Let me know if I can help you two in any way, it would be fun to carpool, but I'm not sure how much cheaper that would be with gas prices and the distance.
Looking very forward to meeting you both!

Rhonda

Can't believe I missed getting in. I have placed my name on the waiting list. For all of you who know you will be attending prepare for a glorious encounter with women who love the Lord with all their heart. God will make a way if it pleases Him for me to join you. But no matter what I'm praying for all of you to receive just what you need on this part of your journey in ministry. Be blessed,
Kay of SC

This will be my first year attending the conference and I am excited and scared in equal measures. Well... maybe a bit more scared!lol I've never done anything like this before... certainly without one of 'the girls' with me. But this is where I feel God is leading me and I have to obey!
When reading the info on the conference, I'm wondering about wardobe? What do people really dress like? I'm doing the Speakers track and I don't know if I have the clothes that are needed. Can someone help to explain a little better. I'm the type of person known for jeans/capri's and a t-shirt!

I am so grateful that I was one of the ladies that registered in time. And I almost waited too long to do so. I am going with a heart full of expectation and anticipation for all that God will allow me to learn and to apply. I am looking forward to great fellowship as well.

I almost waited too long to register too. I'm from Maryland, right outside Baltimore, and this will be my first time attending, although I've known about the conference for a couple of years now. This will be a major step of faith, but looking forward to what God will do at She Speaks--and with me.

I'll be in the Writer Track, but will be sitting in on a couple of blogging sessions.

Hi,
My excittement is building up, especially since my passport has arrived. I am travelling from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Like Danielle, (earlier post) I am also wondering about wardrobe. As a stay at home mom, I am lacking in knowledge about this topic. I also realize that the culturaly things are similar but different from where I am coming from and where I am going. The few nice summer cloting I own are all sleeveless or nearly sleeveless. I am not taking about, spagetti strap, but nice wide coverage of the shoulder but bare arms. As the churches in my circle are not aircondition in the heat and humid summers, it would be fine to wear these sleeveless outfits when giving a talk, but I am not sure of the standard in your area. can someoen guide me in this? thanks you.

Blogger LisaShaw said...

I hope I can attend in the future. God bless your time together.

Anonymous Debbie said...

Can't believe it is coming up so fast! Will we receive anything in advance to prepare or participate in? I haven't heard anything since I got my registration confirmation 3+ months ago.

Thanks.
Heading down from NoVA.

I was wondering the same thing... and still wondering about the clothes?lol

Was also wondering if anyone is coming from Forest City or Shelby , NC area?

Hi,

I have registered and paid for the conference a few months back. I have not received any further information about the conference or confirmation of my registration. Is this something I should be expecting?

Christine

Blogger Mari said...

For those asking about more information, last year we received a packet shortly before the conference with our classes and some other helpful information as far as dress, etc. Don't worry. It should be arriving soon and should answer most of your questions.

Hi! Does anyone out there need/want a roommate? I just registered and had to put myself in a "private room" because there are no doubles left - but I'd rather not be! Let me know if you're up for it...Actually you can give me a call if you want. I promise I don't snore! :) Melissa 919-210-7736

Hi,

Just found this conference and would love to attend....I see it is full :( Is She Speaks planning any other confereneces in the near future? Sounds amazing!

I cannot even express how excited I am to experience She Speaks! I've been trying to attend for 3 years now, I was blessed w/ the financial ability & an awesome new job this year so I can finally go. Honestly, looking back on the past 3 years, this year is the best year for me to attend! His plan really is perfect!

Can't wait to soak in the blessing! I look forward to what God has in store for us!

Hi Ladies-

God works in amazing ways - one of my relatives attended the conference this weekend, and I met her at the hotel (to say hi, because she lives out of state), not knowing what the conference was about - I was simply walking through the lobby and was amazed - I received information about the purpose of the conference, met an author, was blessed with a free book, and I now I am excited to attend the conference next year - I have been praying for God to guide me and open writing and fellowship opportunities. Lord willing, I will be the first one to register!!

I am excited to connect with this ministry!

Thanks!
